I teach Algebra II/Geometry and Geometry. This will be my 15th year as a teacher having taught 12 of those years at Montessori Schools in Covington, Georgia and Granville, Ohio. I taught middle school science for most of that time but have also been a lead 4-6 teacher, a 4-6 math teacher, and a 1-3 assistant. Prior to getting Montessori Certified and teaching, I spent 13 years as a software developer creating manufacturing and engineering for Acuity Brands in Conyers and Decatur Georgia as well as Crawfordsville, Indiana.
I grew up in Colorado and studied at the University of Colorado getting a B.A. in Abstract Mathematics. I have lived in many different states but recently moved back to Georgia in 2014. I have been married to my husband for 25 years and have three wonderful kids. Our son is at the University of Georgia and our oldest daughter is a senior at Peachtree while our youngest daughter is a ninth grader. We also have two adorable and sweet Labradoodles, Lilly and Dempsey.
I am a self-admitted nerd – as is the rest of my family, and while I’m a mathematician I don’t see that as being a four-letter-word. I love math and science and along with my family, we enjoy every museum we can find and are all lifelong learners. In the very minimal time that I am not busy with my kids, I love taking pictures of everything and traveling anywhere I can!
