Peachtree Academy is a college preparatory school that takes seriously its commitment for college preparedness.  At our Covington, Georgia campus we offer academic courses that are rigorous, challenging and involving, with core classes designed to prepare students for success in dual-enrollment college courses by their Senior year. All classes are focused on specific subject matter to allow for in-depth learning, with reading and research being a regular mainstay in the classroom and at home.

Students will have options to select various classes and programs that both meet their needs and position them well for college placement. Fine arts and physical education classes are also required, as well as participation in school-wide community service days and completion of required community service hours.

Attention to curriculum and instruction is not enough to assist students in their transition to the best colleges in the nation. Planning for college begins in the middle school with Career Education, and intensifies in high school as we finalize a student’s individual college and career plans. Students, parents, and teachers work together with our College and Career Counselor as guidance is provided as to the course of study, resources for scholarships are investigated, and college planning to best meet the need of every individual is completed.

Attention to preparation for the SAT college entrance test will be provided in core classes. The PSAT test, precursor to the SAT, is provided for all tenth grade students. The information gleaned from the PSAT to assist in targeting instruction for best results on the SAT.
